Primo Speranza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Murillo in the 8th minute of the match. If Luz Tejedor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 15th minute of play forced Academia 1903's goalkeeper Primo Speranza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 17 minutes into the game, Leon Matthäus recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Rolando Noboa. Leon Matthäus showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. 21 minutes into the match, Academia 1903's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Murillo came free, but Primo Speranza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 23 played minutes Peru got a freekick which was hit by Emmanuel Reyes. Leon Matthäus's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rolando Noboa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 26th minute of play. In the 28th minute, Eliseo Mina left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Peru fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. In the 35th match minute, Academia 1903 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lucien de Neutere to maneuver through the defense. Academia 1903's Primo Speranza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eliseo Mina in the 36th minute of play. 44 minutes into the match, Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Leon Matthäus.

Leon Matthäus recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 54th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 58 minutes into the match, Academia 1903's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Murillo came free, but Primo Speranza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 59th minute Leon Matthäus shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Julian Murillo didn't miss a given chance and shot in short distance 1-2 via right post in the game's 79th minute. Peru's supporters showed their exhuberating excitement! Peru's Eliseo Alcocer was substituted for Moises Gayoso. Peru's Eliseo Mina managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Aldo Maju in the 86 minute of the game. Lucien de Neutere kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. 93 minutes into the game, Rafael Gallo recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Primo Speranza. Rafael Gallo showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-3. When the match was over Peru could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Academia 1903 throughout the match.
