Calenzano's supporters rose to their feet, but Yaniusky Pardo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marco Day breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Marco Day made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arturo Di Matteo in the 9th minute of play. 10 minutes had been played when some careless play by USA's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Filippo Vulcano was slow to take the kick. During this time Calenzano's players had a chance to rest. 12 minutes into the game, Monty Rogers cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Donato Balestra was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Yaniusky Pardo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marco Day read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 15th minute of play. A hard shot 18 in the game by Cassius Byrne from a close distance when the talented Donato Balestra managed to make a qualified save. Calenzano's players were relieved. Calenzano's Donato Balestra played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Monty Rogers in the 31st minute of play. Calenzano's Donato Balestra proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 36th minute of the match, managed to save Calenzano from getting a goal against them. In the 38th minute Arturo Di Matteo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marco Day saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Monty Rogers in the 40th minute of play forced Calenzano's goalkeeper Donato Balestra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Cassius Byrne stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Edward Mcdonald fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Donato Balestra having to interfere. Calenzano's Donato Balestra played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Monty Rogers in the 74th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jenson Smith during the 77th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. USA made a substitution. Marco Baker replaced Edward Mcdonald. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. USA fully deserved thier win.
