Jonathan Venegas charged in rather forcefully in the 7th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jonathan Venegas the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Osfinch FC booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jonathan Venegas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal in the 11th minute to try and stop a shot by Osfinch FC's Don Longden. Ernani Chaves kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. Stefan Cullen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Patricio Costa, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ben Buchanan in the 25th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Patricio Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Ben Buchanan came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Osfinch FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ben Buchanan couldn't finish the play. After 39 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Jonathan Venegas. Ben Buchanan was extremely unlucky when he, in the 45th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Ben Buchanan made the kick off in the second half. Stefan Cullen made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tomas Illescas in the 55th minute. In the 59thth minute of the game Ben Buchanan who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 60 minutes into the match, Ben Buchanan had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ben Buchanan was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Osfinch FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Ben Buchanan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonathan Ferrant breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. There was no doubt that Osfinch FC were the better team. Osfinch FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
