Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Axel Tasis started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jeremias Abreu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 12th minute, Kurt Hamrin ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Benito Sanz was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Jeremias Abreu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benito Sanz having to interfere. With a little luck, Costa Rica's Benito Sanz got control of the ball when Kurt Hamrin tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some careless play in the Costa Rica defense, Kurt Hamrin kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. The Costa Rica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Sanz should have stopped the shot. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jeremias Abreu in the 29th minute of the match. 33 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luís Gustavo Ferreira. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jeremias Abreu in the 36th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kurt Hamrin received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Benito Sanz came out and tried to block the shot, but Kurt Hamrin slotted it home off the left post making it 3-0 in the 40th minute. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Juan Rubio got a free kick in the 43rd minute. Aaron Alcocer hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. In the 45th minute of the match Vito Aguiar shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Benito Sanz showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Kurt Hamrin made the kick off in the second half. The audience was convinced that Kurt Hamrin's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Benito Sanz was relentless in the 51st minute of the game. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Juan Rubio hit a great ball. In the 55th minute of the match Vito Aguiar shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Benito Sanz showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Benito Sanz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Oséas Faria went, in the 62nd minute, to the upper right corner, 5-0 was the resulting score. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kurt Hamrin in the 70th minute of the match. After 72 minutes of play, Real Santista FC's Kurt Hamrin made it 6-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Benito Sanz was left in no man's land by his defense there! Benito Sanz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jeremias Abreu went, in the 75th minute, to the upper right corner, 7-0 was the resulting score. Rafael Perez made a fantastic save in the 77th minute, when Axel Tasis sent off a good shot on target. In the 81st minute the ball was on its way in behind Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 84th minute, Lautaro Puig hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 86 minutes into the game, Real Santista FC's Esiquio Villaspasa nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Benito Sanz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 8-0. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kurt Hamrin in the 91st minute of the match. In the last second Rafael Perez throw himself and got hold of the ball when Axel Tasis in the 94thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. After having played for 96 minutes, Eliseo Noboa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Costa Rica's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eliseo Noboa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
