Per-Åke Lundberg kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. Julian Murillo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jens-Åke Källberg read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 15th minute of play. Rolando Noboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Torgny Landin in the 16th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Özkan Kayaer got free with Rolando Noboa in the 19th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The throw-in from Per-Åke Lundberg in the 25th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Peru's Eliseo Mina. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 31st minute of play forced Boca Juniors's goalkeeper Jens-Åke Källberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jens-Åke Källberg was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Boca Juniors's Harry Hedling was substituted for Dimitris Panagiotakis. Through an outstanding action, after 78 minutes, Jens-Åke Källberg successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. With a little luck, Boca Juniors's Jens-Åke Källberg got control of the ball when Julian Murillo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Oscar Lindholm blasted a shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rolando Noboa having to make a save. Peru's Antonio Tenorio was substituted for Luz Tejedor. Peru's Rafael Gallo was substituted for Julian Murillo. In the 89th minute Torgny Landin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Peru's Eliseo Mina managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Münir Salih in the 93 minute of the game. Münir Salih hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. Peru's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
