Patricio Costa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Edgard Abascal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Illescas in the 21st minute of play forced AFC FUSION's goalkeeper Edgard Abascal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 29 minutes of play, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Edgard Abascal was left in no man's land by his defense there! After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Venezuela's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomas Illescas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Edgard Abascal breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 37 minutes in the game Guillermo Mariano did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Tomas Illescas. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Illescas in the 41st minute of play forced AFC FUSION's goalkeeper Edgard Abascal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 43 minutes in the game Camilo Gaos did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Tomas Illescas. Carlos Ishmael charged in rather forcefully in the 44th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Carlos Ishmael the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Edgard Abascal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Patricio Costa, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Benicio Senen to make the kick off. After having played for 52 minutes, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Venezuela's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomas Illescas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. It was a very nice shot. 85 minutes into the match, Tomas Illescas dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Edgard Abascal, 0-2. Tomas Illescas struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Edgard Abascal didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Venezuela. If Patricio Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 94 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Salvador Gisbert. Venezuela's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
