The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Joel Gaona stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Mira United FC's zone, Joel Gaona stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eriberto Bonadona came out of the goal and Joel Gaona tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alberto Tafalla got free with Eriberto Bonadona in the 61st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Eriberto Bonadona made a fantastic save in the 63rd minute, when Lautaro Mancebo sent off a good shot on target. In the 68th minute of the match Mira United FC got a corner. Mexico's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Feng Cheng Ling ran over to the corner to take the kick. It was a well-played corner which Ademar Ramires managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. In the 70th minute, Gregório Neiva got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a little luck, Mira United FC's Eriberto Bonadona got control of the ball when Alberto Tafalla tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Mexico's zone, Gregório Neiva stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dante Lacasa came out of the goal and Gregório Neiva tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gregório Neiva in the 83rd minute of play.
