The goalkeeper, Julio Vera, was totally fooled by FC Puma Białystok's Pawel Brysz, who 6 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felix Montenegro in the 8th minute of play forced FC Puma Białystok's goalkeeper Christian Byström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Felix Montenegro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Christian Byström having to interfere. The supporters of Ecuador booed when FC Puma Białystok was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rafal Cichocki didn't get a good kick on the ball. 21 minutes into the game, Cristian Sancho cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Christian Byström was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Cristian Sancho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Christian Byström read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 27th minute of play. In the 29th minute Waldemar Gall shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Felix Montenegro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cristian Sancho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Waldemar Gall received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 38th minute, Agustín Saelices hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rafal Cichocki struck a weak shot in the 39th minute. Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Puma Białystok. Christian Byström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 40th minute of play. Mikolaj Pietrasz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Daniel Zorita came free with the goalkeeper in the 51st minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Christian Byström could save by the left post. In the 57th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. FC Puma Białystok's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Daniel Zorita almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but FC Puma Białystok's Christian Byström did a great save. Rafal Cichocki kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. In the 59th match minute, FC Puma Białystok was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vincent Welch to maneuver through the defense. Christian Byström made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 61st minute. Christian Byström showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 63rd minute of the match. Rafal Cichocki kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. Christian Byström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luis Andino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mikolaj Pietrasz in the 88th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The corner led FC Puma Białystok's Rafal Cichocki to fire away a dangerous shot which Julio Vera despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mikolaj Pietrasz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match was over Ecuador could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than FC Puma Białystok throughout the match.
