Spectators: 39 (Terracing: 30, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) 4 minutes into the game, Eliseo Noboa cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Baldomero Txindoki was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 7 played minutes Serafino Azevedo rounded Costa Rica's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-1. Guaberto Arixo hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. The audience was convinced that Serafino Azevedo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Benito Sanz was relentless in the 13th minute of the game. In the 14th minute, Lautaro Puig ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Baldomero Txindoki was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Serafino Azevedo in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Benito Sanz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Pirquitas's Baldomero Txindoki played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eliseo Noboa in the 22nd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Guaberto Arixo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pirquitas's supporters rose to their feet, but Guaberto Arixo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Benito Sanz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 37 minutes, Lautaro Puig managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Costa Rica's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lautaro Puig was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Eliseo Noboa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Baldomero Txindoki tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Costa Rica's zone, Guaberto Arixo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Benito Sanz came out of the goal and Guaberto Arixo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Serafino Azevedo in the 45th minute of play. In the 46th minute, Guaberto Arixo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Benito Sanz was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Serafino Azevedo was the one to do the kick off. In the 55th minute, Serafino Azevedo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Pirquitas fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-2. Alexander Carballo's late challenge caught a Pirquitas's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alexander Carballo helped the player get up and apologised. In the 59th minute, Alexander Carballo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Aaron Alcocer fell near the penalty area in the 65th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Costa Rica's protests and gave Aaron Alcocer a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Aaron Alcocer hit a great ball. Pirquitas's Baldomero Txindoki played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eliseo Noboa in the 67th minute of play. In the 69th minute Guaberto Arixo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Serafino Azevedo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Benito Sanz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 77th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alexander Carballo to maneuver through the defense. Lautaro Puig struck a weak shot in the 80th minute. Baldomero Txindoki didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Costa Rica. Lautaro Puig could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 87th minute of the match, but Baldomero Txindoki made a huge save. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Guaberto Arixo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Guaberto Arixo, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. After 96 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Lautaro Puig.
