Remus Pinches showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julian Murillo, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. Remus Pinches made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eliseo Mina in the 20th minute of play. Rolando Noboa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jose-Antonio Capon in the 22nd minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

Diablos Rojos made a substitution. Rene Sampedro replaced Xu Guang Peng. In the 59th minute Jerome Boateng shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Julian Murillo got free with Remus Pinches in the 80th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Remus Pinches showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eliseo Mina in the 81st minute of the match. When the final whistle sounded Peru left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Diablos Rojos.
