Honduras's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Lautaro Navarro came out of the goal in the 27th minute to try and stop a shot by Astillero del Guayas's Amin Kurd. But to his dismay, Amin Kurd quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. Amin Kurd blasted a shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lautaro Navarro having to make a save. Amin Kurd took the ball and in the 32 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Lautaro Navarro. Lautaro Navarro dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-2. Astillero del Guayas's Nacho González played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edmundo Espiga in the 35th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 44 minutes, Mattias Svan put it in 4-2 from a short distance just to the right of Lautaro Navarro.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Edmundo Espiga to strike the kick off in the second half. Ziemowit Lampa made in the 53rd minute of the game a quick throw-in and Amin Kurd immediately put the ball in play. Lautaro Navarro made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 6-2. 87 minutes into the match, Honduras's goal looked a bit too open when Ulizes Sola came free, but Lautaro Navarro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lautaro Navarro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mattias Svan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Amin Kurd had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Honduras's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
