After having played for 10 minutes, Barry Kent managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. WKS Śląsk Wrocław's supporters crossed their fingers, but Barry Kent was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 12 minutes of play, WKS Śląsk Wrocław's Barry Kent made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Benito Sanz was left in no man's land by his defense there! Benito Sanz came out of the goal in the 15th minute to try and stop a shot by WKS Śląsk Wrocław's Barry Kent. But to his dismay, Barry Kent quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. In the 17th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eliseo Noboa to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Napoleon Zajonc's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Benito Sanz was relentless in the 20th minute of the game. A collision led to WKS Śląsk Wrocław getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Dobromir Porajewski hit a great ball. In the 25th minute, Napoleon Zajonc ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Benito Sanz was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. The crowd rose to their feet as Szczepan Wiatrak kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Benito Sanz. That made the score 5-0 in the 30 minute of play. Benito Sanz was a little too slow when Szczepan Wiatrak got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 36th minute. The score was now 6-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Barry Kent got free with Benito Sanz in the 45th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Szczepan Wiatrak, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. Af the end of the first half the score was 6-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Barry Kent stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Barry Kent, who was totally free with the ball in the 50th minute. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Barry Kent in the 53rd minute of play. 54 minutes into the match, Barry Kent had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Benito Sanz. Napoleon Zajonc fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benito Sanz having to interfere. Lautaro Puig's late challenge caught a WKS Śląsk Wrocław's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lautaro Puig helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of WKS Śląsk Wrocław booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position.
