Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Amine Philibert in the 14th minute of play. After 16 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Guillermo Mariano. In the 17th minute, Amine Philibert got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Amine Philibert struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Jonathan Ferrant didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ground Control. Jérémie Millier took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Amine Philibert got free with Jonathan Ferrant in the 27th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jérémie Millier made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Illescas in the 37th minute of play. In the 39th minute the ball was on its way in behind Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Amine Philibert in the 40th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A throw-in in the 45th minute of the game was made by Igor Guiho with Amine Philibert as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

In the 91st match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Camilo Gaos to maneuver through the defense. Batiste Lassalle didn't quite understand what happened when in the 92 minute of the game managed to get a great opportunity for a goal and then missed the goal by a feet. The Venezuela players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Ground Control from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
