Gwidon Dubilas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 21st minute of the match. Cristian Sancho scored 1-2 in the 28th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gwidon Dubilas, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The supporters of Lech Max booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Primitivo Andino didn't get a good kick on the ball. Otsoko Balmaceda could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 40th minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. Ecuador's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Otsoko Balmaceda 43 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 3-2. Otsoko Balmaceda's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 46th minute of play.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Otsoko Balmaceda was the one to do the kick off. In the 51st minute Otsoko Balmaceda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 55 minutes, Felix Montenegro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Felix Montenegro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Otsoko Balmaceda, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Otsoko Balmaceda came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the Lech Max fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Otsoko Balmaceda couldn't finish the play. Otsoko Balmaceda blasted a shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Julio Vera having to make a save. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Otsoko Balmaceda in the 78th minute of play. In the 80th minute, Otsoko Balmaceda made a precise shot to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-2. After 83 minutes of play, Lech Max's Otsoko Balmaceda made it 5-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Julio Vera was left in no man's land by his defense there! 86 minutes into the match, Lech Max's Otsoko Balmaceda sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar.
