When the match had gone on for 4 minutes, Isidoro Sarmiento took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Ildefonso Ikatz to make any attempt to save it. A collision led to Faraday FC getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Teofilo Frasquito hit a great ball. Tomas Berganza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Ildefonso Ikatz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Panama getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Matthew Garrido hit a great ball. Panama's Marcos Cotilla played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ceferino Formerio in the 14th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Abraham Alguacil got free with Ildefonso Ikatz in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 21st minute, Tomas Berganza fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Ildefonso Ikatz, passed just outside the right post. In the 27th minute Teofilo Frasquito shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Cotilla saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marcos Cotilla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hernan Mendez in the 30th minute of play. In the 32nd minute Tomas Berganza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ildefonso Ikatz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 33 minutes into the match, Tomas Berganza dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Ildefonso Ikatz, 2-0. In the 37th match minute, Panama was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Isidoro Sarmiento to maneuver through the defense. Arturo Sanson's late challenge caught a Panama's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Arturo Sanson helped the player get up and apologised. After 43 played minutes Faraday FC got a freekick which was hit by Arturo Sanson. 45 minutes into the match, Panama's Tomas Berganza sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ildefonso Ikatz narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Hernan Mendez made a kick off. Tomas Berganza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 50th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tomas Berganza in the 54th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ildefonso Ikatz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ildefonso Ikatz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abraham Alguacil, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 57th minute, Tomas Berganza left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Panama fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. A collision led to Faraday FC getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomas Berganza couldn't finish the play. Ildefonso Ikatz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abraham Alguacil, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. Tomas Berganza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tomas Berganza scored 4-0 in the 80th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ildefonso Ikatz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 82 minutes into the game, Tomas Berganza cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-0. Ildefonso Ikatz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 86th minute Abraham Alguacil shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ildefonso Ikatz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ildefonso Ikatz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Berganza, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. Ildefonso Ikatz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Berganza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Panama fully deserved thier win.
