Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Ecuador's Daniel Zorita started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Thanks to some nice moves Daniel Zorita could shoot a difficult shot in the 5th minute, which Tadeusz Bielatowicz however easily saved by the left post. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nicklas Karlsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. Tadeusz Bielatowicz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 9th minute. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Isaac Verduin in the 12th minute of play. Isaac Verduin scored 0-1 in the 14th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Julio Vera, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Tadeusz Bielatowicz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 18th minute. 19 minutes had been played when some careless play by COSMOS's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Tadeusz Bielatowicz in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Agustín Saelices sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Azli Lim stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Azli Lim tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Daniel Zorita who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 25thth minute tested the skills of Tadeusz Bielatowicz when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 27 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tadeusz Bielatowicz narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Agustín Saelices had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Isaac Verduin in the 34th minute of the match. Tadeusz Bielatowicz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 37th minute. In the 39th minute Juan Sebastián Puig shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tadeusz Bielatowicz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Napoleon Skorny hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. Luis Andino recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. COSMOS made a substitution. Zenon Kuszczak replaced Napoleon Skorny. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

In the 54th minute, Daniel Zorita got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 62nd minute, when Isaac Verduin sent off a good shot on target. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. In the 67th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Felix Montenegro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tadeusz Bielatowicz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Daniel Zorita went, in the 74th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Cristian Sancho might have been able to make a better finish in the 77th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tadeusz Bielatowicz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cristian Sancho ran back to his position shaking his head. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Tadeusz Bielatowicz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 83rd minute, when Azli Lim sent off a good shot on target. In the 90th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Andrzej Juskowiak in the 93rd minute of play. In the 95th minute, a hard, long distance shot from Andrzej Juskowiak hit the top of the crossbar and flew over the goal. In the 97th minute Andrzej Juskowiak shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ecuador were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
