An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 4th minute of play forced Estudiantes de América's goalkeeper Prospero Abadia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Estudiantes de América getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Silvano Guib hit a great ball. Alberto Tafalla fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Prospero Abadia having to interfere. Estudiantes de América's Prospero Abadia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Gaona in the 9th minute of play. Prospero Abadia didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Alberto Tafalla went, in the 10th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Joel Gaona received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Prospero Abadia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 25th minute, Lautaro Mancebo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Prospero Abadia was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. Gustavo Bautista charged in rather forcefully in the 27th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gustavo Bautista the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The Mexico fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-5. In the 45th minute, Joel Gaona made a precise shot to the right of Prospero Abadia. The wind increased when Joel Gaona made the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Mexico booed when Estudiantes de América was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Isaias Caetano didn't get a good kick on the ball. 58 minutes into the game, Alberto Tafalla recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Prospero Abadia. Alberto Tafalla showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-7. Joel Gaona's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Prospero Abadia read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 62nd minute of play. 64 minutes into the match, Estudiantes de América's goalkeeper Prospero Abadia had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alberto Tafalla. In the 66th minute, Mexico's Alberto Tafalla dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-8. Lautaro Mancebo received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Facundo Cadaval kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Felix Luque got free with Prospero Abadia in the 83rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Lautaro Mancebo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mexico's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
