In the 7th minute, Jaime Pardo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Giuliano Spiller charged in rather forcefully in the 9th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Giuliano Spiller the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Pirsus's Giuliano Spiller got a free kick in the 9th minute. 11 minutes into the match, Jaime Pardo dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Dan Steiger, 1-0. Jaime Pardo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Dan Steiger having to make a save. Giuliano Spiller struck a weak shot in the 16th minute. Jacobo Nores didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pirsus. Jacobo Nores showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Iago Aspas in the 17th minute of the match. 18 minutes into the match, Pirsus's goal looked a bit too open when Jaime Pardo came free, but Dan Steiger reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Pirsus's Dan Steiger got control of the ball when Hector Covarrubias tried to sneak it across the goal line. Paraguay's Jaime Pardo got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 28 minutes into the match, Pirsus's goalkeeper Dan Steiger had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jaime Pardo. Jaime Pardo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dan Steiger having to interfere. After 43 played minutes Paraguay got a freekick which was hit by Hector Covarrubias.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Iago Aspas made a kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Paraguay's zone, Iago Aspas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jacobo Nores came out of the goal and Iago Aspas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Iago Aspas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 54th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Giuliano Spiller sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hector Covarrubias struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. Dan Steiger didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Paraguay. After a rather tough play, Pirsus's Jonathan Helleren got a free kick in the 68th minute. The supporters of Paraguay booed when Pirsus was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Grayson Mazza didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 88th minute Jaime Pardo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dan Steiger saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dan Steiger showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jaime Pardo in the 92nd minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Paraguay's Jaime Pardo got a free kick in the 93rd minute. After a rather tough play, Pirsus's Jonathan Helleren got a free kick in the 96th minute. When Jaime Pardo came up free with the goalie in the 98th minute, the Paraguay fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jaime Pardo couldn't finish the play. There was no doubt that Paraguay were the better team. Paraguay's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
