An unexpectedly hard shot by Hector Covarrubias in the 5th minute of play forced Pirsus's goalkeeper Dan Steiger to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 6th minute, Percy Ziegler hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Iago Aspas took the ball and in the 9 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jacobo Nores. Jacobo Nores dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 12th minute, Iago Aspas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pirsus's supporters rose to their feet, but Iago Aspas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jacobo Nores breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Xavier Zoido charged in rather forcefully in the 12th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Pier Pfeifer made in the 16th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Paraguay's Ivan Prats. When the match clock showed 19 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Giuliano Spiller sped through Paraguay's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jacobo Nores. After a rather tough play, Pirsus's Jonathan Helleren got a free kick in the 27th minute. Dan Steiger took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jaime Pardo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Iago Aspas in the 31st minute of play forced Paraguay's goalkeeper Jacobo Nores to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dan Steiger didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Hector Covarrubias went, in the 33rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. The supporters of Pirsus booed when Paraguay was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ivan Prats didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Pirsus's Grayson Mazza got a free kick in the 39th minute. After having played for 47 minutes, Iago Aspas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pirsus's supporters crossed their fingers, but Iago Aspas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Iago Aspas was the one to do the kick off. Jacobo Nores made a fantastic save in the 52nd minute, when Giuliano Spiller sent off a good shot on target. Giuliano Spiller could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 54th minute of the match, but Jacobo Nores made a huge save. 2-2 became the score in the 56th minute when Jaime Pardo elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. After having played for 59 minutes, Giuliano Spiller managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pirsus's supporters crossed their fingers, but Giuliano Spiller was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 64 minutes into the match, Paraguay's Alan Campos sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dan Steiger narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 67 played minutes Pirsus got a freekick which was hit by Percy Ziegler. Jaime Pardo struck a weak shot in the 69th minute. Dan Steiger didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Paraguay. Jaime Pardo hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. After 78 played minutes Pirsus got a freekick which was hit by Pier Pfeifer. Keno Monney hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. Pirsus succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Paraguay had controlled the match.
