El Salvador's Moises Fernandino came free and shot a quick shot against goal 3 minutes in the game, fortunately Dan Steiger had problems saving as it came toward the left post. After a rather tough play, Pirsus's Giuliano Spiller got a free kick in the 7th minute. 10 minutes into the match, El Salvador's goal looked a bit too open when Iago Aspas came free, but Ricardo Zorita reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 14 minutes, Iago Aspas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pirsus's supporters crossed their fingers, but Iago Aspas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 15th minute, Keno Monney hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Iago Aspas charged in rather forcefully in the 19th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Iago Aspas the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 20th match minute, Pirsus was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Iago Aspas to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Pirsus's Dan Steiger got control of the ball when Moises Fernandino tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of El Salvador booed when Pirsus was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Geronimo Lehner didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Moises Fernandino got free with Dan Steiger in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of El Salvador booed when Pirsus was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Geronimo Lehner didn't get a good kick on the ball. Joshua Curbelo kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. Pirsus's defense didn't have a chance, in the 38th minute, when Abram Luque scored to the left of an out of position Dan Steiger, making the score, 1-0. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Moises Fernandino to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Moises Fernandino in the 57th minute of play forced Pirsus's goalkeeper Dan Steiger to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to El Salvador getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Luis Rubio hit a great ball. Ricardo Zorita made a fantastic save in the 64th minute, when Giuliano Spiller sent off a good shot on target. If Giuliano Spiller had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ricardo Zorita was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Iago Aspas showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-2 in the 77 minute of play. Iago Aspas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ricardo Zorita having to interfere. Jesus Carvallo hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. In the 97th minute, Percy Ziegler got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
