In the 54th minute the ball was on its way in behind Academia 1903's goalkeeper Primo Speranza, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 56 minutes into the match, Academia 1903's goal looked a bit too open when Edward Mcdonald came free, but Primo Speranza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Academia 1903's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sam Campbell was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Primo Speranza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sam Campbell, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Primo Speranza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Khalid Parry, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. Academia 1903's Primo Speranza tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 97 minutes into the match, Academia 1903's Gérard Magyar broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. USA had played much better football throughout.
