Lars Sundström could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 11th minute of the match, but Marco Day made a huge save. Edward Mcdonald hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. USA's Marco Day proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 14th minute of the match, managed to save USA from getting a goal against them. Through an outstanding action, after 16 minutes, Marco Day successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 21 minutes into the match, FC Kurdistan's goal looked a bit too open when Cassius Byrne came free, but Alaaddin Solskjær reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. USA were awarded a corner in the 25th minute after FC Kurdistan's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Cassius Byrne took the corner. Lars Sundström's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marco Day read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 36th minute of play. Fredric Hybbert scored 1-1 in the 37th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Marco Day, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 40th minute the ball was on its way in behind USA's goalkeeper Marco Day, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 46 played minutes FC Kurdistan got a freekick which was hit by Yin Yun Fan. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.
The wind increased when Cassius Byrne made the kick off in the second half. Fredric Hybbert sent away a hard shot on goal in the 50th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 53 minutes had been played when some careless play by USA's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Keefer Carragher was slow to take the kick. During this time FC Kurdistan's players had a chance to rest. Yin Yun Fan was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. USA's Marco Day played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lars Sundström in the 58th minute of play. Marco Day took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fredric Hybbert, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marco Day showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lars Sundström in the 65th minute of the match. In the 78th minute Jörgen Levander shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marco Day saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elliot Nordgren in the 79th minute of play forced USA's goalkeeper Marco Day to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jacob May fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alaaddin Solskjær having to interfere. USA made a substitution. USA's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jörgen Levander was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. In the 91st minute, Marco Baker got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Elliot Nordgren blasted a shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Marco Day having to make a save.
