With a little luck, Honduras's Lautaro Navarro got control of the ball when Caicedo Berrondo tried to sneak it across the goal line. C.A. Honduras's Lautaro Navarro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save Honduras from getting a goal against them. Lautaro Navarro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Caicedo Berrondo in the 18th minute. 22 minutes into the match, Caicedo Berrondo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Lautaro Navarro. Honduras's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Caicedo Berrondo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Caicedo Berrondo had several of the Honduras's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 26 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 2-0 score and a disappointed Lautaro Navarro as he didn't even see the shot coming. Oso Amezaga took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Moises Tafalla, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 34 minutes into the game, Moises Tafalla cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Oso Amezaga was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Caicedo Berrondo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 37th minute of the match, but Lautaro Navarro made a huge save. C.A. GUAYACO's Oso Amezaga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edmundo Espiga in the 41st minute of play. Honduras's Edmundo Espiga got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet as C.A. GUAYACO's Caicedo Berrondo slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Lautaro Navarro. That made the score 4-1 after 44 minutes of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Caicedo Berrondo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Agustin Pillado charged in rather forcefully in the 53rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Agustin Pillado the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to C.A. GUAYACO getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Agustin Pillado hit a great ball. Caicedo Berrondo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lautaro Navarro having to make a save. In the 71st minute, Valentín Carvallo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. C.A. GUAYACO's Mendoza Joseph got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 75 minutes into the match, Mendoza Joseph had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Lautaro Navarro. Honduras's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mendoza Joseph was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mendoza Joseph in the 78th minute of play forced Honduras's goalkeeper Lautaro Navarro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lautaro Navarro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mendoza Joseph in the 88th minute of play. In the 91st match minute, Honduras was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Valentín Carvallo to maneuver through the defense. Mendoza Joseph sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Oso Amezaga stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Edmundo Espiga's shot from short distance in the 96th minute.
