Gualterio Daunte showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Berganza in the 13th minute of the match. Marcos Cotilla didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Johannes Igelström went, in the 14th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Isidoro Sarmiento in the 17th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gualterio Daunte saved Backa IF from getting behind. Per-Erik Nyberg hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Berganza in the 25th minute of play forced Backa IF's goalkeeper Gualterio Daunte to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gualterio Daunte took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Berganza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 26 minutes into the match, Backa IF's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Berganza came free, but Gualterio Daunte reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Panama's Matthew Garrido got a free kick in the 37th minute. Fabiano Marques could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 39th minute of the match, but Marcos Cotilla made a huge save. The supporters of Panama booed when Backa IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Per-Erik Nyberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tomas Berganza succeeded in the game's 43rd minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-2. Joseph Målare kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Fabiano Marques made a kick off. Gualterio Daunte made a fantastic save in the 53rd minute, when Isidoro Sarmiento sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Panama booed when Backa IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Peter Borre didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tomas Berganza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Backa IF's Gualterio Daunte played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Isidoro Sarmiento in the 63rd minute of play. Gualterio Daunte made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Isidoro Sarmiento in the 64th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Håkan Byström during the 65th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Håkan Byström kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. Gualterio Daunte took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alex Cambeiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. During the 74th minute of the match Håkan Byström completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Håkan Byström a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Panama's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomas Berganza was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 92nd minute Isidoro Sarmiento shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gualterio Daunte saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 94th match minute, Backa IF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Per-Erik Nyberg to maneuver through the defense. 96 minutes into the match, Isidoro Sarmiento notched a goal, 1-4, to the right of Backa IF's Gualterio Daunte. Gualterio Daunte was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When the final whistle sounded Panama left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Backa IF.
