In the 10th minute Jeremias Ezkerra shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Manzanares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 12 minutes into the match, Leon Matthäus had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Pedro Manzanares. Colombia's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Leon Matthäus was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. A sloppy throw-in by Carlos Figueroa in the 14th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Colombia's Kevin Mastache. 16 minutes into the match, Colombia's goal looked a bit too open when Leon Matthäus came free, but Pedro Manzanares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Academia 1903's Primo Speranza proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 19th minute of the match, managed to save Academia 1903 from getting a goal against them. The audience thought a goal was coming when Axel Montenegro got free with Primo Speranza in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Pascual Carballar made in the 27th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Axel Montenegro however managed to control. Colombia's Kevin Mastache got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Pedro Manzanares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leon Matthäus in the 30th minute of play. Academia 1903's Primo Speranza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abram Sarmiento in the 35th minute of play. In the 40th minute the ball was on its way in behind Academia 1903's goalkeeper Primo Speranza, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Orlando Tafalla made in the 43rd minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Axel Montenegro. The score stood at 2-2 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Academia 1903's Jakub Fedor was substituted for Jeremias Ezkerra. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Abram Sarmiento to make the kick off. Academia 1903's Primo Speranza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Santino Seco in the 51st minute of play. Kevin Mastache struck a weak shot in the 54th minute. Primo Speranza didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Colombia. The audience was convinced that Axel Montenegro's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Primo Speranza was relentless in the 57th minute of the game. Academia 1903 made a substitution. Gérard Magyar replaced Harald Ek. Academia 1903's Timoteo Columbo was substituted for Leon Matthäus. Academia 1903 were awarded a corner in the 64th minute after Colombia's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Gérard Magyar took the corner. After taking down the ball on Academia 1903's corner Gérard Magyar fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Pedro Manzanares quite easily take care of the ball. Primo Speranza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Santino Seco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Colombia's Kevin Mastache managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Carlos Figueroa in the 72 minute of the game. Pedro Manzanares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jakub Fedor in the 73rd minute of the match. 73 minutes into the game, Jakub Fedor cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-3. Pedro Manzanares was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Pedro Manzanares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Timoteo Columbo in the 85th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abram Secada in the 90th minute of play forced Academia 1903's goalkeeper Primo Speranza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 91 minutes had been played when some careless play by Academia 1903's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Kevin Mastache was slow to take the kick. During this time Colombia's players had a chance to rest. After some careless play in the Academia 1903 defense, Abram Secada kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Primo Speranza. The Academia 1903 fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Primo Speranza should have stopped the shot.
