Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Felix Montenegro in the 7th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Epifanio Valery prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 8th minute of the match, Alo Hurt tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Julio Vera saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Benito Pacorro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Epifanio Valery didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Epifanio Valery showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 24th minute of the match. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Benito Pacorro tried to sneak it across the goal line. The corner led U21 Totoras F.C.'s Fernando Polo to fire away a dangerous shot which Julio Vera despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Tadeo Evarado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Epifanio Valery took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ivan Tadzio hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luis Andino in the 36th minute of play forced U21 Totoras F.C.'s goalkeeper Epifanio Valery to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 39 minutes into the game, Alo Hurt recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Julio Vera. Alo Hurt showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. The supporters of Ecuador booed when U21 Totoras F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Presebal Ubiña didn't get a good kick on the ball.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Alo Hurt was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Benito Pacorro in the 52nd minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 55 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ecuador's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Fernando Polo was slow to take the kick. During this time U21 Totoras F.C.'s players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Fernando Polo got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Julio Vera quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 57th minute of play forced U21 Totoras F.C.'s goalkeeper Epifanio Valery to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Benito Pacorro in the 68th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. In the 74th minute, Ivan Tadzio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 76th minute. The corner led Ecuador's Daniel Zorita to fire away a dangerous shot which Epifanio Valery despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 78th match minute, U21 Totoras F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Benito Pacorro to maneuver through the defense. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alfréd Marton in the 83rd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Agustín Saelices in the 86th minute of play forced U21 Totoras F.C.'s goalkeeper Epifanio Valery to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 87th minute, Alfréd Marton ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Julio Vera was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. In the 94th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Epifanio Valery saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 96 minutes into the match, Luis Andino dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Epifanio Valery, 3-1. Ecuador's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because U21 Totoras F.C. had won, even though Ecuador had held more of the ball.
