In the 10th minute the ball was on its way in behind Icaria's goalkeeper Aritz Nafría, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Icaria's Aritz Nafría played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 32nd minute of play. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 33th minute after Icaria's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. Ecuador's Felix Montes was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Aritz Nafría in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Gartzen Segura received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Aritz Nafría took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 37th minute after Icaria's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. With his leg Julio Vera managed to avoid a goal in the 43rdth minute, when Icaria's Herodes Barroso fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. When Felix Montenegro fell near the penalty area in the 46th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ecuador's protests and gave Felix Montenegro a yellow card for diving instead. Felix Montenegro kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

Daniel Zorita's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Aritz Nafría firmly grabbed it by the left post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Aritz Nafría in the 56th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The crowd rose to their feet as Cristian Sancho kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Aritz Nafría. That made the score 0-3 in the 61 minute of play. Cristian Sancho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Aritz Nafría read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 64th minute of play. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Aritz Nafría tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Joachim Bodelon fell near the penalty area in the 68th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Icaria's protests and gave Joachim Bodelon a yellow card for diving instead. After 68 played minutes Icaria got a freekick which was hit by Joachim Bodelon. When Icaria's Herodes Barroso in the 71st minute got a chance for a shot 71st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ecuador's goalie prevented a goal. After having played for 79 minutes, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristian Sancho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Aritz Nafría made a fantastic save in the 84th minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Aritz Nafría in the 85th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 85 minutes into the game, Ostadar Torres was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Icaria's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. After 89 minutes Icaria's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. When Icaria's Herodes Barroso in the 92nd minute got a chance for a shot 92nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ecuador's goalie prevented a goal. 94 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Aritz Nafría made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4.
