Julio Vera was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Jeronimo Txatxu showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-2 in the 40 minute of play. After 47 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Antonio Arias. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 48 minutes play. Juan Sebastián Puig hit a great ball. The Xv de Piracicaba players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Ecuador were winning 1-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Daniel Zorita was the one to do the kick off. Sebastian Sandberg didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Daniel Zorita went, in the 54th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sebastian Sandberg having to interfere. Julio Vera came out of the goal in the 58th minute to try and stop a shot by Xv de Piracicaba's Ramon Menezes. But to his dismay, Ramon Menezes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-3. In the 60th minute Jeronimo Txatxu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 61st minute, Ramon Menezes ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Julio Vera was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-3. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jeronimo Txatxu in the 68th minute of play. Julio Vera came out of the goal in the 70th minute to try and stop a shot by Xv de Piracicaba's Ander Uibomäe. But to his dismay, Ander Uibomäe quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-3. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sebastian Sandberg having to interfere. After 91 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Camilo Gisbert. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jeronimo Txatxu, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. Felix Montenegro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 94th minute of the match, but Sebastian Sandberg made a huge save. 95 minutes into the game, Jeronimo Txatxu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-3. Julio Vera was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The Xv de Piracicaba support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
