Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 4th minute after Vykans Vikingar's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. Marcus Ekrot showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. Cristian Sancho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marcus Ekrot read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 7th minute of play. In the 9th minute Abdi Revis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 10 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Martin Mutumba. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mats Hermansson, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. 12 minutes into the game, Daniel Zorita cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Marcus Ekrot was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mats Hermansson in the 15th minute of play. 21 minutes into the match, Vykans Vikingar's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Marcus Ekrot reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Martin Mutumba managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vykans Vikingar's supporters rose to their feet, but Martin Mutumba was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Daniel Zorita's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marcus Ekrot read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 34th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Vykans Vikingar's Hugo Eden got a free kick in the 39th minute. In the 42nd match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Daniel Zorita to maneuver through the defense. After the first half Ecuador were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. Vykans Vikingar's Christoffer Johansson was substituted for Elliott Bogren. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Martin Mutumba managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vykans Vikingar's supporters rose to their feet, but Martin Mutumba was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 64thth minute of the game Cristian Sancho who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Vykans Vikingar's Marcus Ekrot was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Marcus Ekrot made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 67th minute of play. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 68th minute. If Hílton Souza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Agustín Saelices's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Marcus Ekrot firmly grabbed it by the left post. 85 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Abdi Revis came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 86th minute, Cristian Sancho reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Marcus Ekrot. The goal made the score 0-2. 88 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Abdi Revis came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A well-hit corner resulted in Tage Glanselius heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leonardo Trancoso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 94 minutes into the game, Vykans Vikingar's Leonardo Trancoso nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Julio Vera made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Ecuador walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
