Mariano Lacasa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Angel-Enrique Comizzo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 5th minute of play. 6 minutes had been played when some careless play by Blue Angels's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Mariano Lacasa was slow to take the kick. During this time Chile's players had a chance to rest. Orlando Casaus made a great header on Chile's corner, it was just that Blue Angels's Angel-Enrique Comizzo managed to reach the ball for a save. The supporters of Chile booed when Blue Angels was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Oscar Lindström didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the Chile defense, Alf Björk kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Thiago Pliego. The Chile fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Thiago Pliego should have stopped the shot. Hassan Yusuf charged in rather forcefully in the 17th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hassan Yusuf the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Blue Angels's Hassan Yusuf got a free kick in the 17th minute. Mariano Lacasa succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-1 in the 27th playminute. Thiago Pliego showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alf Björk, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. In the 35th minute, Johan Bangsbo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Chile's Thiago Pliego played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Patrik Skark in the 38th minute of play. Mariano Lacasa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 43rd minute of the match, but Angel-Enrique Comizzo made a huge save. 44 minutes into the game, Alf Björk was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Blue Angels's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Chile the free kick. In the 44th match minute, Blue Angels was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alf Björk to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Blue Angels getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Hassan Yusuf hit a great ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mariano Lacasa to make the kick off. In the 54th minute of the match, Alf Björk tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Thiago Pliego saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Chile's Thiago Pliego played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Markus Berg in the 56th minute of play. Pedro Indiano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Angel-Enrique Comizzo having to interfere. Guillermo Fontirroig recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Angel-Enrique Comizzo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mariano Lacasa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alf Björk sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Blue Angels's Robin Söder was substituted for Oscar Lindström. After a rather tough play, Blue Angels's Din Boll got a free kick in the 87th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alf Björk in the 94th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Thiago Pliego saved Chile from getting behind.
