Despite this Florentino Boni quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 17 minutes in the game Emiliano Vega did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Emiliano Vega. 19 minutes into the game, Argentina's Amado Cardozo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rene Higuita made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. In the 22nd minute Alba Arce shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rene Higuita saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bruno Fonso blasted a shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Florentino Boni having to make a save. In the 25th minute, Amado Cardozo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Argentina fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Rene Higuita came out of the goal in the 29th minute to try and stop a shot by Argentina's Pepe Ferrari. But to his dismay, Pepe Ferrari quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. Florentino Boni made a fantastic save in the 32nd minute, when Rafa Marques sent off a good shot on target. Bruno Fonso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Amado Cardozo in the 43rd minute of play forced Club Ibiza's goalkeeper Rene Higuita to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Maximiliano Peralta made in the 47th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Naldo Olleros however managed to control. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-3.

Florentino Boni came out of the goal in the 63rd minute to try and stop a shot by Club Ibiza's Bruno Fonso. But to his dismay, Bruno Fonso quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-3. Club Ibiza made a substitution. Kazuo Koriotto replaced Bruno Fonso. The throw-in from Macario Fernandez in the 69th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Club Ibiza's Vebjørn Waaler. Sebastian Sagese could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 73rd minute of the match, but Rene Higuita made a huge save. After having played for 76 minutes, Cristofer Conti managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Argentina's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristofer Conti was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Argentina's zone, Kazuo Koriotto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Florentino Boni came out of the goal and Kazuo Koriotto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cristofer Conti received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Rene Higuita came out and tried to block the shot, but Cristofer Conti slotted it home off the left post making it 2-4 in the 82nd minute. Sebastian Sagese received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Rene Higuita tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A sloppy throw-in by Macario Fernandez in the 88th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Club Ibiza's Vebjørn Waaler. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristofer Conti in the 90th minute of play forced Club Ibiza's goalkeeper Rene Higuita to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
