A very good chance. Tatvanspor's Vatan Sidam played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Troy Kennedy in the 41st minute of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Melih Cevdet Onultan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bruno Barrett having to interfere. After 55 minutes, Troy Kennedy mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Curacao and the Tatvanspor players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Tatvanspor booed when Curacao was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Troy Kennedy didn't get a good kick on the ball. Many of Tatvanspor's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Tatvanspor may have spent more time on the ball, but Curacao were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
