Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Ecuador's Daniel Zorita started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Aulis Takala took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 7th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. Felix Montenegro was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Camilo Gisbert hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. Antti Forsman had several of the Ecuador's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 10 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Julio Vera as he didn't even see the shot coming. In the 14th minute, Cristian Sancho made a precise shot to the right of Aulis Takala. Fc Pehmeät Jänikset's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Aulis Takala showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Juan Sebastián Puig in the 24th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 28th minute of play forced Fc Pehmeät Jänikset's goalkeeper Aulis Takala to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Aulis Takala tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Antti Forsman managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fc Pehmeät Jänikset's supporters rose to their feet, but Antti Forsman was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 39th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Aílton Carvalho kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. After 47 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Antonio Arias. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aílton Carvalho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Antti Forsman made a kick off. In the 55thth minute of the game Antti Forsman who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A collision led to Fc Pehmeät Jänikset getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Unto Häppölä hit a great ball. After 61 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Felix Montenegro. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Antti Forsman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Aulis Takala tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luis Andino was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Aulis Takala made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 72nd minute of play. In the 73rd minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. Aulis Takala didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Daniel Zorita went, in the 74th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. Niilo Lehkosuo's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Niilo Lehkosuo helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Fc Pehmeät Jänikset's Niilo Lehkosuo got a free kick in the 79th minute. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Diego Mancebo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aulis Takala having to interfere. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ecuador's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
