With a little luck, Chile's Thiago Pliego got control of the ball when Yves Passot tried to sneak it across the goal line. 11 minutes into the game, Yves Passot cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Thiago Pliego was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Mariano Lacasa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Montevideo City Torque's Christophe Troxler played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 17th minute of play. Thiago Pliego made an important save on a dangerous shot by Yves Passot in the 33rd minute. After 34 minutes Chile's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Alkestis Papadopulos who took care of the corner kick. Alkestis Papadopulos made a great header on Montevideo City Torque's corner, it was just that Chile's Thiago Pliego managed to reach the ball for a save. After 35 played minutes Chile got a freekick which was hit by Francisco Carballar. Thiago Pliego made an important save on a dangerous shot by Yves Passot in the 43rd minute. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Mariano Lacasa made the kick off in the second half. In the 55th minute Yves Passot suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gerardo Pozo during the 55th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Chile's Gerardo Pozo got a free kick in the 55th minute. Montevideo City Torque made a substitution. Agustín Álvarez replaced Yves Passot. After 57 played minutes Chile got a freekick which was hit by Gerardo Pozo. Christophe Troxler took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mariano Lacasa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 70 minutes into the match, Montevideo City Torque's goalkeeper Christophe Troxler had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mariano Lacasa. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 74th minute of play forced Montevideo City Torque's goalkeeper Christophe Troxler to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 76 minutes into the match, Montevideo City Torque's goalkeeper Christophe Troxler had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mariano Lacasa. In the 80th minute of the match Chile got a corner. Montevideo City Torque's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. In the 83rd minute Mariano Lacasa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christophe Troxler saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 84 minutes had been played when some careless play by Montevideo City Torque's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Mariano Lacasa was slow to take the kick. During this time Chile's players had a chance to rest. Chile were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
