Gualterio Daunte breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With his leg Gualterio Daunte managed to avoid a goal in the 30thth minute, when Honduras's Edmundo Espiga fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Gualterio Daunte made a fantastic save in the 34th minute, when Edmundo Espiga sent off a good shot on target. In the 36th match minute, Backa IF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Håkan Byström to maneuver through the defense. 37 minutes into the match, Backa IF's goal looked a bit too open when Edmundo Espiga came free, but Gualterio Daunte reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Fabiano Marques had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Fabiano Marques fell near the penalty area in the 44th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Backa IF's protests and gave Fabiano Marques a yellow card for diving instead. Gualterio Daunte showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edmundo Espiga, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Edmundo Espiga to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Backa IF booed when Honduras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Milagros Cabal didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fabiano Marques got free with Lautaro Navarro in the 94th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
