Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) With a little luck, Mercedes's Augusto Ellande got control of the ball when Lautaro Mancebo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Lautaro Mancebo's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Augusto Ellande firmly grabbed it by the left post. Augusto Ellande made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 9th minute. Lautaro Mancebo came free with the goalkeeper in the 14th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Augusto Ellande could save by the left post. In the 15th minute, Joel Gaona got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 16th minute Manuel Morais shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 18 minutes into the match, Albino Feliu notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Mexico's Dante Lacasa. Dante Lacasa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Augusto Ellande took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joel Gaona, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alvaro Abar in the 23rd minute of play. Augusto Ellande showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. Dante Lacasa came out of the goal in the 30th minute to try and stop a shot by Mercedes's Manuel Morais. But to his dismay, Manuel Morais quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. A collision led to Mercedes getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Anier Mon hit a great ball. With an all-out effort, Mexico's Augusto Ellande threw himself towards the right post 34 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Alberto Tafalla, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. An unexpectedly hard shot by Manuel Morais in the 36th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Augusto Ellande made a fantastic save in the 38th minute, when Lautaro Mancebo sent off a good shot on target. 39 minutes into the game, Lautaro Mancebo recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Augusto Ellande. Lautaro Mancebo showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. Augusto Ellande took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joel Gaona, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 45th minute Albino Feliu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Joel Gaona stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Augusto Ellande showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lautaro Mancebo, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. Mercedes's Genaro Azibar was substituted for Melquiades Chinto. The supporters of Mexico booed when Mercedes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Filiberto Pinto didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alberto Tafalla sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 69th minute of the match, Manuel Morais tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Dante Lacasa saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Anier Mon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dante Lacasa having to interfere. After having played for 75 minutes, Joel Gaona managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mexico's supporters crossed their fingers, but Joel Gaona was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 78th minute Joel Gaona shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Augusto Ellande saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 83rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Mercedes's goalkeeper Augusto Ellande, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 88 minutes into the match, Mercedes's goal looked a bit too open when Alberto Tafalla came free, but Augusto Ellande reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 88thth minute of the game Alberto Tafalla who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mercedes's Augusto Ellande was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Felix Luque kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. After 90 played minutes, Mercedes's Anier Mon shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Dante Lacasa came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Mercedes reached it. In the 92nd minute, Joel Gaona made a precise shot to the right of Augusto Ellande. Mercedes's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. Alberto Tafalla recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Despite being the better team, Mexico failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
