The Voskresensk FC fans' excitement grew in the 10th match minute when Voskresensk FC's Fedor Ivanchuk looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Voskresensk FC's Igor Akinfeev proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save Voskresensk FC from getting a goal against them. Voskresensk FC's Evgeniy Fomichev got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Voskresensk FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Higinio Donio didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 26th minute, Gleb Sorokin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Gleb Sorokin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. 31 minutes into the match, Voskresensk FC's goalkeeper Igor Akinfeev had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 34th minute of play forced Voskresensk FC's goalkeeper Igor Akinfeev to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Igor Akinfeev tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cristian Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 37th minute of the match, but Igor Akinfeev made a huge save. Daniel Zorita's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Igor Akinfeev firmly grabbed it by the left post. Julio Vera didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gleb Sorokin went, in the 42nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. The Ecuador players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Voskresensk FC were winning 0-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Fedor Ivanchuk stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Igor Akinfeev tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Voskresensk FC made a substitution. Timofey Solomakhin replaced Vladimir Safarov. Cristian Sancho struck a weak shot in the 69th minute. Igor Akinfeev didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Igor Akinfeev made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 76th minute of play. In the 77th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Igor Akinfeev in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. The supporters of Voskresensk FC booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juan Sebastián Puig didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 80th match minute, Voskresensk FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Stepan Romm to maneuver through the defense. After 81 played minutes Daniel Zorita shot from long distance. After 91 played minutes Voskresensk FC got a freekick which was hit by Gleb Sorokin. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Igor Akinfeev having to interfere. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Ecuador lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
