Luai Al Banai showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edmundo Espiga in the 29th minute of the match. The supporters of Honduras booed when Kuwait SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jalal Al Rifaee didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 35 played minutes Kuwait SC got a freekick which was hit by Ayoob Al Homaithe. Luai Al Banai showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sebastian Villa, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. After 38 minutes, Jalal Al Rifaee mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Kuwait SC and the Honduras players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 38th minute, Jalal Al Rifaee hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Honduras's Sebastian Villa managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Hakem Boften in the 44 minute of the game. After taking down the ball on Kuwait SC's corner Ayoob Al Homaithe fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Lautaro Navarro quite easily take care of the ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Honduras's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Kuwait SC the free kick. In the 52nd minute, Milagros Cabal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luai Al Banai made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edmundo Espiga in the 56th minute of play. Luai Al Banai showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Christian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. 66 minutes into the match, Honduras's goal looked a bit too open when Jamel Boyd came free, but Lautaro Navarro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luai Al Banai took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edmundo Espiga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Honduras's Lautaro Navarro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jamel Boyd in the 70th minute of play. After 72 minutes Kuwait SC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Edmundo Espiga who took care of the corner kick. The corner led to Honduras's Sebastian Villa getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. In the 74th minute, Esteban Carvallo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Edmundo Espiga recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 83 minutes into the match, Kuwait SC's goal looked a bit too open when Edmundo Espiga came free, but Luai Al Banai reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 94th minute, Luca Espinar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lautaro Navarro stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jamel Boyd's shot from short distance in the 97th minute. The Kuwait SC players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
