Efrain Moruga kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. Ayoob Al Homaithe struck a weak shot in the 7th minute. Benito Sanz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Kuwait SC. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Alan Moruga hit a great ball. Mosab Al Fadhalah received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Benito Sanz came out and tried to block the shot, but Mosab Al Fadhalah slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 20th minute. Alan Moruga kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. After 28 minutes, Mosab Al Fadhalah mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Kuwait SC and the Costa Rica players grew even worse after the yellow card. Benito Sanz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jamel Boyd in the 38th minute. Through an outstanding action, after 40 minutes, Benito Sanz successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. When Kuwait SC's Jamel Boyd in 43 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Benito Sanz guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. Abel Carballo kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Axel Tasis was the one to do the kick off. Hakem Boften received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Benito Sanz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Kuwait SC's Oscar Murillo got a free kick in the 62nd minute. In the 69th minute, Jalal Al Rifaee got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Axel Tasis struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. Luai Al Banai didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Costa Rica. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jamel Boyd, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mosab Al Fadhalah sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the Costa Rica defense, Ayoob Al Homaithe kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. The Costa Rica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Sanz should have stopped the shot. Eliseo Noboa struck a weak shot in the 84th minute. Luai Al Banai didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Costa Rica. When Lautaro Puig came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the Costa Rica fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lautaro Puig couldn't finish the play. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jamel Boyd in the 94th minute of the match. After 95 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Alan Moruga.
