Spectators: 43 (Terracing: 33, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) AC Perugia Calcio's Lukas Bambas started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lukas Bambas, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. A well done corner resulted in Benediktas Kučinskas drilling the ball in to score 1-0 behind Ecuador's goalkeeper. AC Perugia Calcio's Brede Bonk played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Agustín Saelices in the 12th minute of play. Ulf Finsberg could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 13th minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 15th minute of play forced AC Perugia Calcio's goalkeeper Brede Bonk to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Brede Bonk made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 17th minute of play. Daniel Zorita took the ball and in the 17 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Brede Bonk. Brede Bonk dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. The supporters of AC Perugia Calcio booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antonio Arias didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 23rd minute. The corner led Ecuador's Daniel Zorita to fire away a dangerous shot which Brede Bonk despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Brede Bonk showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luis Andino in the 29th minute of the match. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brede Bonk having to interfere. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lukas Bambas in the 33rd minute. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Daniel Zorita in the 39th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Brede Bonk saved AC Perugia Calcio from getting behind. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Daniel Zorita in the 40th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Brede Bonk prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Brede Bonk showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Brede Bonk tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Prospero Aztore hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. Daniel Zorita recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 48th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. AC Perugia Calcio made a substitution. Edward Jonasson replaced Ulf Finsberg. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

If Luis Andino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 58 played minutes AC Perugia Calcio got a freekick which was hit by Bogdan Markowski. Agustín Saelices's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Brede Bonk read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 61st minute of play. Felix Montenegro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Brede Bonk tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 76th minute Lukas Bambas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Brede Bonk tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Brede Bonk made an important save on a dangerous shot by Felix Montenegro in the 82nd minute. Benediktas Kučinskas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Benediktas Kučinskas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cristian Sancho in the 87th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Brede Bonk saved AC Perugia Calcio from getting behind. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Benediktas Kučinskas took the ball and in the 92 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Julio Vera. Julio Vera dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-3. 96 minutes into the game, Benediktas Kučinskas was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. AC Perugia Calcio's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. In the 96th match minute, AC Perugia Calcio was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Benediktas Kučinskas to maneuver through the defense.
