The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Millano Almandoz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Abel Carballo kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Peng Yu Jian in the 13th minute of play. After 14 minutes, Peng Yu Jian made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Alan Moruga got a free kick in the 23rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Peng Yu Jian in the 23rd minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Peng Yu Jian in the 26th minute of the match. In the 27th minute the ball was on its way in behind Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 31st minute, Emilio Galsino got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Juan Rubio kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Peng Yu Jian in the 39th minute of play. 42 minutes into the match, Serafino Nafarroa notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Costa Rica's Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Axel Tasis to strike the kick off in the second half. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Amílton Lucas, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Benito Sanz came out of the goal in the 55th minute to try and stop a shot by Mosqueteiros 4EVER's Serafino Nafarroa. But to his dismay, Serafino Nafarroa quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Peng Yu Jian received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Benito Sanz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Benito Sanz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Peng Yu Jian in the 60th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Millano Almandoz in the 62nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Benito Sanz saved Costa Rica from getting behind. After some careless play in the Costa Rica defense, Emilio Galsino kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. The Costa Rica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Sanz should have stopped the shot. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Serafino Nafarroa in the 69th minute of play. Costa Rica's defense didn't have a chance, in the 70th minute, when Millano Almandoz scored to the left of an out of position Benito Sanz, making the score, 0-5. The supporters of Costa Rica booed when Mosqueteiros 4EVER was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Peng Yu Jian didn't get a good kick on the ball. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Millano Almandoz, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Serafino Nafarroa in the 79th minute of play. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Millano Almandoz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Peng Yu Jians short, quick shot in the 83rdth minute got Benito Sanz to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Benito Sanz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Millano Almandoz's shot from short distance in the 87th minute. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Peng Yu Jian, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 95th minute of the match, managed to save Costa Rica from getting a goal against them.
