Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fausto Pinti, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Fausto Pinti stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Elia Pietrantoni in the 51st minute of play. In the 56th minute the ball was on its way in behind Eurospeed Asti's goalkeeper Damiano Battisti, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Cristian Sancho came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet.
