Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Daniel Zorita in the 11th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Serbülent Baysan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of FC Anderlecht Huachipato booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luis Andino didn't get a good kick on the ball. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ecuador were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
