After 15 minutes, Carlos Meireles made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Fluminense DF's Carlisle Schultz tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The supporters of Fluminense DF booed when SC Angrense was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jairo Sardinha didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ingemar Kilman scored 1-1 in the 19th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Honorato Alves, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Jairo Sardinha got a throw-in 23 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Erubiel Chorche. SC Angrense's Honorato Alves played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ingemar Kilman in the 25th minute of play. In the 27th minute, Ingemar Kilman got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ingemar Kilman's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Honorato Alves read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 32nd minute of play. 37 minutes into the match, Fluminense DF's goal looked a bit too open when Carlos Meireles came free, but Carlisle Schultz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Carlos Meireles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlisle Schultz having to interfere. 42 minutes into the game, Osvaldo Furlan was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SC Angrense's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Osvaldo Furlan was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Carlos Meireles made a kick off. In the 55th match minute, SC Angrense was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jairo Sardinha to maneuver through the defense. Honorato Alves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ingemar Kilman in the 56th minute of the match. After some careless play in the SC Angrense defense, Ingemar Kilman kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Honorato Alves. The SC Angrense fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Honorato Alves should have stopped the shot. In the 60th minute, Ingemar Kilman left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Fluminense DF fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-1. Ingemar Kilman blasted a shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Honorato Alves having to make a save. Honorato Alves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ingemar Kilman, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. Carlisle Schultz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carlos Meireles in the 67th minute of the match. 70 minutes into the match, Fluminense DF's Ingemar Kilman sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Honorato Alves narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Jairo Sardinha was shown his second yellow card after 71 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Prudencio Goiz took the ball and in the 95 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Honorato Alves. Honorato Alves dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 7-1.
