The supporters of Ashley Down Athletic booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jonathan Venegas didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 13th minute of the match, Ed Helks tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Jonathan Ferrant saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Ruben Higginson took the ball and in the 19 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Patricio Costa struck a weak shot in the 27th minute. Roberto Estevon didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Venezuela. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ruben Higginson in the 30th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Matthew Macken in the 55th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 57 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Matthew Macken came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ashley Down Athletic's Vern Hatcher was substituted for Feliciano Stephen. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Matthew Macken, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 70 minutes into the game, Warren Barrett cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. With an all-out effort, Venezuela's Roberto Estevon threw himself towards the right post 84 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Patricio Costa, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Roberto Estevon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Patricio Costa, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. 89 minutes into the game, Alex Chicote was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Venezuela's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ashley Down Athletic the free kick. Warren Barrett missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 91 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Jonathan Ferrant right hand side.
