The audience thought a goal was coming when Danijel Petrlin got free with Jonathan Ferrant in the 6th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 7th minute, Alex Chicote hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 11th minute the ball was on its way in behind Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Alex Chicote made in the 14th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Patricio Costa. After a defensive mix-up in Maksimir's zone, Tomas Illescas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Antonio Križanec came out of the goal and Tomas Illescas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 17 minutes, Alex Chicote mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Venezuela and the Maksimir players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Alex Chicote got a free kick in the 17th minute. Jonathan Ferrant made a fantastic save in the 21st minute, when Danijel Petrlin sent off a good shot on target. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Danijel Petrlin in the 23rd minute of the match. Maksimir's Miodrag Rozga quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Salvador Gisbert, made in the 24th minute of the game. After having played for 25 minutes, Danijel Petrlin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Maksimir's supporters crossed their fingers, but Danijel Petrlin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 27th minute, Danijel Petrlin ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jonathan Ferrant was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Šandor Dajčić hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. In the 46th minute the ball was on its way in behind Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Danijel Petrlin to make the kick off. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 61st minute, Tomas Illescas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal in the 64th minute to try and stop a shot by Maksimir's Danijel Petrlin. But to his dismay, Danijel Petrlin quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Danijel Petrlin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. Maksimir made a substitution. Adrijan Grbović replaced Danijel Petrlin. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jonathan Venegas during the 69th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Jonathan Venegas got a free kick in the 69th minute. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adrijan Grbović, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. In the 76th minute the ball was on its way in behind Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Adrijan Grbović scored 3-1 in the 77th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jonathan Ferrant, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adrijan Grbović in the 83rd minute of play. Maksimir were awarded a corner in the 85th minute after Venezuela's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Adam Dodaj took the corner. After taking down the ball on Maksimir's corner Adam Dodaj fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Jonathan Ferrant quite easily take care of the ball. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adrijan Grbović, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. 90 minutes into the game, Alex Chicote threw the ball into play from the sideline. Maksimir's Antonio Hrste quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. When the match had gone on for 91 minutes, Adrijan Grbović put it in 4-1 from a short distance just to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adrijan Grbović in the 94th minute of the match. Maksimir were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Venezuela for a fine match.
