The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Snett★inåt★bakåt's Kenneth Kvarnström played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 5th minute of play. Daniel Zorita did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Kenneth Kvarnström 8 minutes into the match. Ola Britz struck a weak shot in the 12th minute. Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Snett★inåt★bakåt. Snett★inåt★bakåt's Kenneth Kvarnström proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 14th minute of the match, managed to save Snett★inåt★bakåt from getting a goal against them. In the 14th minute, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Kenneth Kvarnström in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The audience was convinced that Fernando Carvalhal's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 21st minute of the game. When the match clock showed 21 minutes, the score became 2-1 when Fernando Carvalhal sped through Ecuador's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 27 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Fernando Carvalhal came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Daniel Zorita recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Snett★inåt★bakåt's zone, Cristian Sancho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kenneth Kvarnström came out of the goal and Cristian Sancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Agustín Saelices could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 35th minute of the match, but Kenneth Kvarnström made a huge save. Kenneth Kvarnström showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luis Andino in the 36th minute of the match. When Felix Montenegro came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Felix Montenegro couldn't finish the play. Ecuador were furious when Camilo Gisbert was red carded, 43 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. 2-2 came in the 45th minute when Hugo Kuse all by himself managed to get straight through the defense and place the ball into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The first half was very even, with the score at 2-2 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cristian Sancho to make the kick off. Kenneth Kvarnström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 52nd minute of play. The Snett★inåt★bakåt fans' excitement grew in the 55th match minute when Snett★inåt★bakåt's Fernando Carvalhal looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Kenneth Kvarnström showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felix Montenegro, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. After 60 played minutes Snett★inåt★bakåt got a freekick which was hit by Ola Britz. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Valter Parve in the 62nd minute of play. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 67th minute after Snett★inåt★bakåt's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. The corner led Ecuador's Cristian Sancho to fire away a dangerous shot which Kenneth Kvarnström despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 70 minutes into the match, Ivan Vollander notched a goal, 2-4, to the right of Ecuador's Julio Vera. Julio Vera was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Agustín Saelices struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. Kenneth Kvarnström didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. In the 79th minute, Agustín Saelices made a precise shot to the right of Kenneth Kvarnström. Snett★inåt★bakåt's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-4. In the 95th match minute, Snett★inåt★bakåt was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gido Saelman to maneuver through the defense. Snett★inåt★bakåt succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Ecuador had controlled the match.
