With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Fernando Carvalhal tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ivan Vollander struck a weak shot in the 4th minute. Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Snett★inåt★bakåt. The crowd rose to their feet as Ivan Vollander kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Julio Vera. That made the score 1-0 in the 8 minute of play. The long shot by Hugo Kuse in the 19th minute really tested Julio Vera's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 21st minute of play forced Snett★inåt★bakåt's goalkeeper Kenneth Kvarnström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 25th match minute, Snett★inåt★bakåt was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ivan Vollander to maneuver through the defense. 29 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Fernando Carvalhal came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 31 played minutes Snett★inåt★bakåt got a freekick which was hit by Ola Britz. Kenneth Kvarnström came out of the goal in the 32nd minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Felix Montenegro. But to his dismay, Felix Montenegro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Fernando Carvalhal's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 36th minute of play. After some careless play in the Snett★inåt★bakåt defense, Daniel Zorita kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Kenneth Kvarnström. The Snett★inåt★bakåt fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Kenneth Kvarnström should have stopped the shot. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ivan Vollander in the 42nd minute. When Gido Saelman fell near the penalty area in the 43rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Snett★inåt★bakåt's protests and gave Gido Saelman a yellow card for diving instead. In the 43rd minute, Gido Saelman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 44 minutes into the match, Daniel Zorita notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of Snett★inåt★bakåt's Kenneth Kvarnström. Kenneth Kvarnström was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Daniel Zorita was the one to do the kick off. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Snett★inåt★bakåt was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 50 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hugo Kuse didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 52 minutes, Juan Sebastián Puig mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ecuador and the Snett★inåt★bakåt players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Snett★inåt★bakåt getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Fredric Åström hit a great ball. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. Gido Saelman hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. Kenneth Kvarnström was out of position in the 74 minute of play, and Agustín Saelices capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Agustín Saelices really showed his touch with that goal: 1-5. Kenneth Kvarnström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 77th minute of play. Kenneth Kvarnström made a fantastic save in the 83rd minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. 85 minutes into the match, Ivan Vollander had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ivan Vollander was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-6. Cristian Sancho might have been able to make a better finish in the 88th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Kenneth Kvarnström. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cristian Sancho ran back to his position shaking his head. Snett★inåt★bakåt's Kenneth Kvarnström played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 89th minute of play. After 91 minutes of play, Ecuador's Luis Andino made it 2-7 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Kenneth Kvarnström was left in no man's land by his defense there! Kenneth Kvarnström came out of the goal in the 96th minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Daniel Zorita. But to his dismay, Daniel Zorita quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-8. Ecuador's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
