In the 4th minute of the match Mexico got a corner. Team Rocco's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Joel Gaona ran over to the corner to take the kick. Göran Unesson kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. In the 6th minute, Joel Gaona left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Mexico fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Sven-Edvin Mårtensson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lautaro Mancebo, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. Dante Lacasa made a fantastic save in the 12th minute, when Sebastian Nordlund sent off a good shot on target. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Göran Unesson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 24th minute, Lautaro Mancebo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Sven-Edvin Mårtensson was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Alberto Tafalla managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mexico's supporters rose to their feet, but Alberto Tafalla was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sven-Edvin Mårtensson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Alberto Tafalla might have been able to make a better finish in the 32nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sven-Edvin Mårtensson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Alberto Tafalla ran back to his position shaking his head. After a defensive mix-up in Team Rocco's zone, Lautaro Mancebo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sven-Edvin Mårtensson came out of the goal and Lautaro Mancebo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 34th minute Vincent Olofsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sven-Edvin Mårtensson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lautaro Mancebo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Joel Gaona made a kick off. With an all-out effort, Mexico's Sven-Edvin Mårtensson threw himself towards the right post 53 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Joel Gaona, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 54 minutes into the match, Team Rocco's goal looked a bit too open when Alberto Tafalla came free, but Sven-Edvin Mårtensson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alberto Tafalla sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Team Rocco's Joel Lundström was substituted for Vilhelm Moberg. Team Rocco were awarded a corner in the 61th minute after Mexico's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Ralf Vase took the corner. Team Rocco's Ralf Vase was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Dante Lacasa in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. When Luca Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the Mexico fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luca Zorita couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Team Rocco getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Mark Eliasson hit a great ball. After having played for 67 minutes, Joel Gaona managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mexico's supporters crossed their fingers, but Joel Gaona was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Göran Unesson in the 69th minute of the match. Team Rocco's Sven-Edvin Mårtensson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Gaona in the 74th minute of play. With his leg Sven-Edvin Mårtensson managed to avoid a goal in the 93rdth minute, when Mexico's Lautaro Mancebo fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. A collision led to Team Rocco getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Ralf Vase hit a great ball. Sven-Edvin Mårtensson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 97th minute. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Mexico had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
