The supporters of Paraguay booed when Östavall was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valter Sörman didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jonatan Alebom took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jaime Pardo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Joachim Sandell received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Jacobo Nores tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Paraguay booed when Östavall was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valter Sörman didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Östavall getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Nicklas Lindgren hit a great ball. Paraguay were awarded a corner in the 28th minute after Östavall's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Jaime Pardo took the corner. Östavall's Jonatan Alebom played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hector Covarrubias in the 37th minute of play. Hector Covarrubias sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When Hannes Lindsten fell near the penalty area in the 39th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Östavall's protests and gave Hannes Lindsten a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Paraguay booed when Östavall was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hannes Lindsten didn't get a good kick on the ball. Joachim Sandell fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jacobo Nores having to interfere. Östavall's attentive Hannes Lindsten managed to snatch the ball when Jose Sanz made a throw-in in the 45th minute of the game. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jaime Pardo was the one to do the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 51st minute, Hector Covarrubias managed to get in a good position for a shot. Paraguay's supporters rose to their feet, but Hector Covarrubias was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonatan Alebom breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thomas Pååk recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 54 minutes, Joachim Sandell made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. Paraguay's Jacobo Nores tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After a rather tough play, Östavall's Joachim Sandell got a free kick in the 59th minute. Hector Covarrubias struck a weak shot in the 66th minute. Jonatan Alebom didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Paraguay. If Joachim Sandell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Joachim Sandell hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. 75 minutes into the match, Thomas Pååk had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jacobo Nores. Paraguay's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Thomas Pååk was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. 81 minutes into the match, Paraguay's Hector Covarrubias sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jonatan Alebom narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 82nd minute, Hector Covarrubias left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Paraguay fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. 87 minutes into the game, Jaime Pardo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Paraguay's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Östavall the free kick. Jaime Pardo hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Jose Sanz kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. Hannes Lindsten hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. Paraguay's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Östavall had won, even though Paraguay had held more of the ball.
